District 99 High School is looking to replace Robert Lemke’s seat. After Lemke’s official resignation on April 30th, the Board is looking for those interested in serving an unexpired term on the school board.

Unfortunately, District 99 continues to make the news.
Last week, board member Robert Lemke resigned. He will submit his formal resignation notice tomorrow, April 30th.
His reason for leaving was basic, short and simple: “I leave with growing frustration over the school Board’s processes.”

We originally posted on Diamond Bank’s acquisition of Downers Grove National Bank back in November of 2009.
It seems that as of today, that deal has fallen through.

Last night’s District 99 Board of Education meeting had a huge turnout, vastly supporting to keep Downers North chemistry teacher Andrew Klamm on staff.
While the District continued to deal with budget cuts in it’s last meeting, much focus was put on Klamm’s future during this meeting.

The Village of Downers Grove has received confirmation from the National Park Service that it is now a Certified Local Government with regard to historic preservation.
According to a press release from the Village, this allows Downers Grove and it’s residents to participate in certain state and federal preservation activities, among them:
